Switchboard Upgrade, EV Charger, Sauna Circuit and a Sneaky Water Fault: One Job, Four Wins

Some electrical jobs grow once work gets underway. That’s what happened during this project in Booragoon, which started with a switchboard upgrade and ended with four major improvements around the home.

Making Room for New Installations

The homeowner wanted to install an EV charger and a sauna, but the existing switchboard had no room for the additional circuits. We upgraded the switchboard, reorganised and labelled all existing circuits, and made sure the home’s electrical system was ready for the extra demand.

Installing Dedicated Circuits

With the new switchboard in place, we installed a dedicated circuit for the EV charger, complete with the required protection and a nearby isolator for safe servicing.

We also ran a new dedicated circuit for the sauna, installing the cabling and a 20A socket outlet so the sauna could be connected safely and operate reliably.

Finding Another Fault Along the Way

While working on site, we discovered the outdoor alfresco lighting wasn’t working properly. After investigating, we found water had entered one of the electrical connectors, causing it to fail. We replaced the damaged connector and other affected components before testing the lighting to confirm everything was back to normal.

One Visit, Four Improvements

By the end of the job, the homeowner had:

  • A new, upgraded switchboard
  • A dedicated EV charger circuit
  • A dedicated sauna circuit
  • Repaired outdoor lighting

Every new and modified circuit was thoroughly tested before completion, ensuring the home was safe, compliant, and ready for everyday use.

Why We Always Mention We’re Licensed (And Why It Matters)
